Legislation in Europe has brought in the need for audits and certification in order to prove compliance with European legislation. This European legislation is normally transposed into national legislation within the European Member states. From that moment on the European requirements become obligatory for the inhabitants (including companies) of the European area.
ECB Nederland is a private entity, appointed by the Dutch Government and conducts legal audit, assessment and certifications procedures.
ECB Nederland is registered by de European Commission and appointed by the Dutch Ministry of Transport, Public Works and Water Management.
(Inter) -national & EU legislation and international standards
The European legislation refers to quality systems and (inter)national standards in order to prove compliance with the legal and Essential Requirements. This way the standards for quality assurance and international technical standards form a significant part of the legislation.
Our legal obligatory auditing activities consist of:
- Risk Assessment to verify that the product is safe to use and meets all requirements of the applicable directives
- Correct assessment of applicable requirements
- Support in preparing and specifying all pertinent import/export regulations
- Provide a general overview of the applicable requirements
- Execution of regular quality tests
- Preparation and execution of process and product audits by qualified and personally accredited auditors
- Assess the capability of the producer to manufacture according to legal requirements
Following the ECB Audits, the legal obligatory certification procedures can be started.
The ECB Nederland legal obligatory certification scheme is accredited to provide system, product and service certification against applicable international standards.
